Arrival and dinner in Montreal

We arrived in Montreal about 6:00 PM and proceeded to check in to our hotel, the Loews Hotel Vogue.  After freshening up, we walked to the Old Montreal section of the city for dinner at Le Local, a place recommended by the hotel concierge and certainly not a road food greasy spoon joint. Of course, dinner was excellent (I had the soup of the day, the beet salad with truffle oil, bacon, goat cheese, panko egg, and cod, the catch of the day) and Clare enjoyed her first cocktail (!) as she is 18 years old and of legal drinking age in Quebec, Canada. Clare and Suzanne took an Uber back to the hotel, while Conor and I worked off our meal by walking back to our hotel.
