Montreal bagels

Before leaving Montreal for Quebec City, we drove to St-Viateur Bagels to sample some Montreal-style bagels. Their bagels are different from New York-style bagels in that they are boiled in honey water and cooked in a wood-fired oven designed to both cook and flavour the bagel. We thoroughly enjoyed them, topped with some whipped Philadelphia-brand cream cheese. Then we hopped back in the car for the relatively short drive to Quebec City.
