We woke up early and headed to
Saint Joseph's Oratory, where we heard part of the Mass in French. Devout pilgrims will walk the 99 steps to the Oratory on their knees (we saw two as we were leaving). Then we drove to Parc du Mont-Royal and walked to the
Chalet du Mont-Royal, where the views of Montreal were spectacular. Parc du Mont-Royal was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, the renowned designer of New York's Central Park. From there we headed to Old Montreal for brunch at
Bocata and a visit to the Notre-Dame Basilica. After that, we drove back to the hotel for some much needed napping.
