Swissair Flight 111 Memorial

After leaving Peggy's Cove, on our way to Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, we stumbled upon the Swissair Flight 111 Memorial. I got out of the car to view the memorial to the flight which, on September 2, 1998, crashed into the Atlantic Ocean at the entrance to St. Margarets Bay, Nova Scotia, about 5 miles from shore, roughly equidistant from the tiny fishing and tourist communities of Peggy's Cove and Bayswater, Nova Scotia.
