The Confederation Bridge

After leaving Moncton, New Brunswick, we headed to Prince Edward Island for a full day of travel and sightseeing and, of course, Anne of Green Gables. To get there, we drove over the Confederation Bridge, a curved, 8-mile long bridge that is the longest in the world crossing ice-covered water. The bridge is one of Canada’s top engineering achievements of the 20th century and is designed to last 100 years. It took nearly four years to construct the bridge.
